Stay Awake Survival Kit: Office Edition

Ever had one of those days you practically have to use office supplies to affix your eyelids to  your face in order to stay awake? We all have them. So, what happens when you work a 9-5 on a hamster wheel in a cubicle? You must find ways to stay awake and alert and that in itself is a mission. Luckily, I deal with this constantly therefore, I have a little survival kit that is bound to keep even the sleepiest sleepyhead awake. 

Listen to: 

Upbeat, catchy songs that you haven’t heard before.  It helps you pay attention and possibly you gain some new music

Munch on:

Instead of drinking 6 cups of coffee, grab an apple. Studies show that not only does it promote alertness more than caffeine but, it cleans your teeth too! 

Chew on a some peppermint flavored gum, the minty freshness will perk up your senses.

Stretch it out:

If you can, take a walk around the office, go out to the parking lot and get a dose of the Sun’s Vitamin D rays. If not, do some quick stretches to let oxygen flow through your bodies.

If all else fails…sneak in a 15 minute nap during your break time. Sometimes your body is just craving a pause.
