With Halloween merely days away, now is the perfect time to make some super easy and tasty caramel apples! Keep reading for detailed instructions!
Ingredients needed:
One (1) Bag of Granny smith Apples
1 bag of individually wrapped Caramels
Popsicle sticks ( I used Kabob skewers cut in half)
2 tablespoons of water
a heavy saucepan
STEP ONE: Wash apples and insert popsicle stick/skewer in each one, place on wax paper and cookie sheet.
STEP TWO: Unwrap each caramel and place in saucepan
STEP THREE: Start the stove on low heat and add two (2) tablespoons of water to the caramels.
STEP FOUR: cook over low heat, stirring occassionally…
Until the mixture is smooth and all the caramels have been melted.
STEP SIX: Dip each apple individually in the mixture.
STEP SEVEN: Let the excess caramel drip off.
STEP EIGHT: Place apples on wax paper to cool.
STEP NINE (Optional!): You can decorate with candy, nuts or as we did above; with cereal. Make sure you decorate before letting the caramel cool.
STEP TEN:Let the apples cool completely before enjoying :)
